Graduate Apprenticeships are a ground-breaking initiative, creating degree qualified employees with key skills tailored to the needs of business.

What are Graduate Apprenticeships?

Graduate Apprenticeships (GAs) are aimed at anyone over the age of 16 who lives and works in Scotland. GAs enable employers to upskill their workforce – either new or existing employees – to meet the growing demands of business, allowing them to gain new qualifications whilst remaining in paid employment.

They have been created to address skills needs in wide range of key growth sectors in the Scottish economy.

The benefits to business

Research has shown that GAs are proven to deliver tangible business benefits, including increased productivity, talent development and retention, improved service delivery and staff engagement.

Here's just some of the ways they can help an individual and a business:

  • They are a great way to attract new talent to a company or to upskill and reskill existing employees
  • All degree programmes are fully-funded - meaning there are no additional costs to the employer or the employee
  • The programmes are designed by industry and employers to develop skills tailored to the needs of business
  • Work-based learning approach ensures practical application in the business environment
  • They are an excellent way to recover the Apprenticeship Levy the company may already be paying
